Following thorough empirical research on best practices for the design and implementation of stay interviews as well as benchmarking other organization's efforts, I developed a presentation to gain buy-in for implementation.
Challenge
As part of the overall listening strategy, stay interviews were being considered in order to gain additional insight into the employee experience, including what kept employees with the organization as well as what may be risk factors for them leaving.
Action
Following thorough empirical research on best practices for the design and implementation of stay interviews as well as benchmarking other organization's efforts, I developed a presentation to gain buy-in for implementation.
The presentation contained not only best practices for each phase of the project, but also sections on our goals in implementing stay interviews, the benefits of doing so, guidelines for question development, and recommended questions, and protocols for conducting the interviews.
Finally, I outlined recommendations to foster organizational embeddedness in employees.
Results
Stay interviews are being implemented as part of the overall listening strategy in 2023.
