Scale Development
Confidential
A survey measuring all three dimensions of organizational justice -- distributive, procedural, and interactional -- developed to be administered via employee survey.
About
This project was a collaboration between myself and three other alumni from my graduate school cohort. Our aim was to develop a reliable & valid tool to measure employee perceptions of organizational justice.
Challenge
In order to develop a reliable and valid scale, it required a significant amount of research on the part of all 4 consultants. Additionally, there were multiple interviews conducted with a total of 7 subject matter experts to gauge relevance of our developed items as well as several rounds of review in order to refine the items used and come to the final scale.
Action
Once item relevance was analyzed and a cut score determined, a full item analysis and 2 phases of reliability analysis were performed.
Result
-
Reliability analyses indicating an alpha of a = .91, which is considered "excellent" internal consistency score.
-
The final scale contained a total of 25 items.
